Daniel Moore’s 4th-and-31 Gravedigger image revealed for latest painting

Daniel A. Moore announced last month he will commemorate the 2023 Iron Bowl’s “Gravedigger” play in which Jalen Milroe found Isaiah Bond on fourth-and-31 with 32 seconds left to give the Crimson Tide a 27-24 win over Auburn.

On Wednesday, the pencil sketch of his new project was revealed.

“This is one of those no brainers, because I know who I have to show in the painting and that’s obviously Jalen Milroe and Isaiah Bond,” Moore said last month.

Alabama has won 11 straight since losing at home to Texas on Sept. 9, including a 27-24 win over then-No. 1 Georgia in in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game to make the College Football Playoff.

Against Auburn, Alabama was trailing by four with 1:43 left. The Tide had first-and-goal at the Auburn 7 before moving backward. The Tide lost 18 yards on a bad snap and were pushed back 5 more yards with an illegal downfield pass on third down after Milroe crossed the line of scrimmage before the game-winning play.
